Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen dark sweet cherries Pitted
  • 12 oz Vanilla Cherry Coca-Cola Very cold
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract For depth
  • 2 cups crushed ice Keeps the slush thick
  • 3 scoops vanilla bean ice cream Optional topper

Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender For a smooth ice consistency
  • 3 Tall glasses Pre-chill in freezer
  • 1 Measuring cups For accurate ratios

Method

  1. Place your serving glasses in the freezer for ten minutes to ensure the slushie stays frozen longer.
  2. Add the frozen dark cherries and crushed ice into a high-speed blender to create the fruit base.
  3. Pour in the vanilla extract to enhance the aromatic profile of the cherries and cola.
  4. Pulse the blender in short bursts until the ice and cherries reach a coarse, slushy consistency.
  5. Slowly pour in half of the chilled Vanilla Cherry Coke to incorporate the carbonation gently.
  6. Blend on the lowest setting for five seconds to mix without losing all the fizzy bubbles.
  7. Distribute the slushie mixture into the cold glasses, leaving room for the ice cream topper.
  8. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and serve with a straw and spoon immediately.

Notes

Always use thoroughly chilled soda to prevent the ice from melting too quickly. Pouring the soda down the side of the glass creates the best marbled visual effect.
