  • 1 Fine-mesh strainer (Ensures smooth texture, no ice chips)
  • 1 Citrus juicer or reamer (For freshly squeezed lime juice)
  • 1 Coupe or rocks glass (Use a chilled glass for best results)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila - Blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice - Juice from about 1 lime
  • 0.75 oz Agave syrup - Or use simple syrup
  • 1 Egg white - Optional, for frothy top
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters - Optional, adds depth
  • 1 cup Ice - For shaking both stages

Instructions 

  • Squeeze lime juice and measure all liquids.
    All ingredients for tequila sour shown: tequila, lime, agave, egg white, bitters, and ice.
  • Dry shake all ingredients (no ice) 15 secs.
    Cocktail shaker in motion during dry shake.
  • Add ice and shake again for 20 seconds.
    Cracked ice added to shaker for second shake.
  • Strain into chilled glass and garnish.
