Ingredients
  

Sour Sugar Rim
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Citric acid powder Essential for sour flavor
  • Food coloring Optional
Jello Shots (per flavor)
  • 1 box (3 oz) Flavored jello Blue, red, green, yellow, etc.
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • ½ cup Cold water
  • ½ cup Vodka Plain or flavored
Garnish
  • 24 pieces Sour Patch Kids One per shot
  • Extra sugar For rimming

Equipment

  • Whisk For dissolving jello
  • Mixing bowl Heatproof
  • Baking Sheet For transporting glasses
  • Plastic or glass shot cups Any 1–2 oz size
  • Shallow dish For sour sugar rim

Method
 

  1. Combine sugar + citric acid; color if desired.
  2. Dip cup edges in water then sour sugar.
  3. Whisk jello powder with boiling water until fully dissolved.
  4. Stir in cold water and vodka.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared shot glasses.
  6. Chill 4 hours or until fully set.
  7. Top each shot with one Sour Patch Kid before serving.

Notes

Feel free to mix and match jello flavors and colors for a rainbow effect. Flavored vodkas like lemon or berry work great!
