Slow Cooker Teriyaki Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • 32 oz frozen meatballs Homestyle or Italian
  • ½ cup soy sauce Low sodium
  • ½ cup water For sauce base
  • ½ cup brown sugar Packed
  • ¼ cup honey Adds gloss
  • 1 tablespoon garlic Minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger Grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Adds tang
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening
  • 2 tablespoon cold water For slurry
  • 1 cup pineapple slices Optional garnish

  • 1 Slow cooker 6-quart size
  • 1 Whisk For sauce
  • 1 Small bowl For slurry

Method
 

  1. Whisk soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Place frozen meatballs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them.
  3. Cover and cook on Low for 3-4 hours or High for 1.5-2 hours.
  4. Whisk cornstarch and cold water; stir into the pot and cook on High for 15 mins to thicken.
  5. Garnish with pineapple slices and parsley before serving.

Notes

Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness. Add pineapple chunks for a sweeter, fruity twist.
