Preparation:
- Thaw puff pastry overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature for 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Apple Preparation:
- Core and thinly slice apples (¼-inch thickness).
- Toss apple slices with: Lemon juice/Pinch of salt/Cinnamon/Sugar
Assembly Steps:
- Roll the puff pastry slightly and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Score a 1-inch border around the edges of the puff pastry (do not cut through).
- Arrange apple slices in overlapping rows or a spiral pattern within the scored border.
- Brush melted butter over the apples and pastry edges.
- Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Baking:
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed, and the apples are tender.
- While the tart bakes, warm apricot jam (or honey) with water and lemon juice to create the glaze.
- Remove the tart from the oven and brush the warm glaze over the apples.
Cooling & Serving:
- Let the tart cool slightly before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
