Ingredients

  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough - 13.8 oz
  • 1 lb ground beef - 85% lean
  • ½ onion - Diced
  • 1 ½ cups pizza sauce - Or marinara
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese - Shredded
  • ½ cup pepperoni - Sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder - Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning - Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter - Melted, for crust
  • 1 handful fresh basil - Garnish

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Press pizza dough into a greased 9-inch pie dish.
  • Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet; drain fat and season with garlic and Italian herbs.
  • Spread beef over the dough, top with pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni.
  • Brush crust edges with melted butter and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Drain the ground beef thoroughly before adding it to the pie to prevent a soggy bottom crust. Let the pie rest for 10 minutes after baking for clean slices.
