Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter -
  • 1 cup Brown sugar - Packed
  • ½ cup Dark corn syrup or maple syrup - For sticky topping
  • 2 cups Pecan halves -
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt -
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract -

For Serving

  • Maple syrup - Optional drizzle
  • Whipped cream - Optional topping
  • Powdered sugar - For dusting

Instructions 

  • Butter 9x13 baking dish generously.
  • Layer bread slices snugly in single layer.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and spices.
  • Pour custard evenly over bread, press to absorb.
  • Cover and refrigerate 8–24 hours.
  • Melt butter, add brown sugar, syrup; stir until smooth.
  • Stir in pecans, salt, and vanilla.
  • Pour pecan mixture evenly over soaked bread.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 45–55 minutes until golden.
  • Let rest 10 minutes, top with syrup or whipped cream.
