Method
- Heat large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Brown ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks; season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and bell pepper; cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in tomato paste; cook 2 minutes. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, and seasonings.
- Bring to a boil. Add macaroni, stir, cover, and simmer 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Stir in cheese until melted. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
