Ingredients
  

Apple Layer
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pudding Layer
  • 2 boxes instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz each)
  • 3 cups whole milk, cold
  • 1 container Cool Whip, thawed (8 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Assembly
  • 1 box graham crackers (14.4 oz)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce plus extra for drizzling
  • powdered sugar optional, for dusting

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish For layering dessert
  • Large skillet To cook apples
  • Large bowl For mixing pudding
  • Whisk To thicken pudding
  • Rubber spatula For spreading layers

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat until foaming.
  2. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook 8–10 minutes, stirring until tender but not mushy.
  3. Stir in lemon juice, remove from heat, and let apples cool completely.
  4. Whisk pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes to thicken.
  5. Gently fold in Cool Whip and vanilla until smooth. Chill pudding mixture.
  6. In 9x13 dish, layer graham crackers, half pudding, half apples, and caramel drizzle. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with final graham cracker layer, drizzle with caramel, cover, and refrigerate at least 4
