  • 2 Large Eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract Use high-quality vanilla
  • 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips Semi-sweet
  • 1 cup Chopped nuts Optional walnuts or pecans

Method
 

  1. Bring butter and eggs to room temp. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
  7. Cover dough and let sit for 1 hour.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons onto lined baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden.
  10. Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack
