Instructions
Bring butter and eggs to room temp. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
Cover dough and let sit for 1 hour.
Drop rounded tablespoons onto lined baking sheets.
Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden.
Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack
