Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb brioche bread Sliced thick
  • ½ lb deli ham Thinly sliced
  • ½ lb deli turkey Thinly sliced
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese Sliced
  • 6 large eggs For custard
  • 1.5 cups half-and-half Or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Flavor enhancer
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg Ground
  • 2 tablespoon powdered sugar For dusting
  • ½ cup raspberry preserves For serving

  • 1 9x13 baking dish Ceramic or glass
  • 1 Whisk For custard
  • 1 Serrated knife For bread

Method
 

  1. Layer half the bread in a greased 9x13 dish; top with ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese.
  2. Top with remaining bread slices. Whisk eggs, dairy, mustard, and spices; pour over bread.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or overnight). Preheat oven to 375°F.
  4. Bake covered for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 15-20 mins until golden and set.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with warm preserves or syrup.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better absorption. Don't skip the Dijon mustard for authentic flavor. Serve with warm raspberry jam.
