Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds Ground beef 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio for optimal juiciness
  • 1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix 1-ounce package
  • 1 cup Plain breadcrumbs Fresh preferred over dried
  • 1 large Eggs Room temperature
  • ¾ cup Whole milk Room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce For umami depth
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Optional for extra flavor
For the glaze:
  • 1 cup Ketchup Room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar Light or dark
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow mustard Adds tanginess
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Optional for depth

Equipment

  • 1 9x5-inch loaf pan Light-colored aluminum for even cooking
  • 1 Large mixing bowl At least 5-quart capacit
  • 1 Small bowl For glaze mixing
  • 1 Meat thermometer Digital for accuracy
  • 1 set Measuring cups and spoons For precise measurements
  • 1 Parchment paper 15-inch length

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Line loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal
  3. Combine ground beef, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, and milk in large bowl
  4. Mix gently with hands until just combined (don't overmix)
  5. Transfer mixture to prepared pan
  6. Shape into even loaf (don't pack too tightly)
  7. Make shallow depression along top
  8. Mix glaze ingredients in small bowl
  9. Spread half the glaze over meatloaf
  10. Bake for 45 minutes
  11. Add remaining glaze
  12. Continue baking 15 minutes
  13. Check internal temperature (160°F)
  14. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing
