Layered Blueberry Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 0.5 large banana frozen
  • 0.5 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 0.25 cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 0.5 large banana fresh for yellow layer
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt for yellow layer
  • 1 teaspoon honey for yellow layer
  • 0.25 cup fresh blueberries for topping
  • 4 pieces pineapple chunks fresh for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds optional
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder optional

Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender For smooth texture
  • 2 Clear glasses To show layers
  • 1 Large spoon For layering technique
  • 1 Small spoon For swirling

Method
 

  1. Insert paper straw and serve immediately
  2. Adjust - Add almond milk gradually until thick, spoonable consistency is reached
  3. Reserve - Set aside ⅔ of this purple mixture for layering
  4. Blend - In same blender, blend fresh banana, pineapple juice, yogurt, and honey
  5. Mix - Blend until smooth and pale yellow in color
  6. Layer - Spoon purple mixture into bottom third of glass
  7. Add - Add layer of yellow mixture on top
  8. Repeat - Repeat alternating layers, building up the glass
  9. Swirl - Use spoon to gently swirl colors together for marbled effect
  10. Top - Arrange fresh blueberries and pineapple chunks on top
  11. Serve - Insert paper straw and serve immediately
