Method
- Steep the tea bag and culinary lavender in boiling water for five minutes to extract the deep floral flavors.
- Strain the hot tea to remove the buds, stir in a spoonful of honey to dissolve, and chill completely in the fridge.
- Combine the chilled tea, whole milk, and butterfly pea powder in a pitcher to create the beautiful pastel purple milk.
- Drizzle the remaining honey heavily down the inside walls of your serving glass to create thick, sticky decorative drips.
- Fill the honey-drizzled glass entirely to the top with clear ice cubes to keep the beverage perfectly cold.
- Use a handheld frother to whip the heavy cream in a small bowl until it is thick but still pourable.
- Pour the purple milk tea into the glass over the ice, leaving an inch of space at the top for the foam.
- Pour the frothed cream gently over the top, then garnish with dried lavender buds and a final drizzle of honey.
Notes
Natural lavender tea brews into a brownish color; to achieve the vibrant pastel purple aesthetic shown in the photo, a tiny pinch of butterfly pea flower powder or a drop of food coloring is highly recommended.
