Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish (9x13 inch)
  • 1 Hand mixer (For smooth filling)
  • 1 Piping bag (Or ziplock bag)
  • 1 Pastry brush (For butter)

Ingredients

  • 1 package King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls - 12 count
  • 8 oz cream cheese - Softened
  • cup granulated sugar - For filling
  • 1 egg yolk - For richness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - Flavor
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice - For tang
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter - Melted
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar - For dusting

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Cut a small circle in the top of each roll and press down to create a well.
  • Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
  • Pipe or spoon the filling generously into the center of each roll.
  • Brush the bread edges with melted butter.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until filling is set and rolls are golden.
  • Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth, lump-free filling. Do not cut all the way through the bottom of the rolls to prevent leaks.
