- Beat softened butter and brown sugar together until fluffy and fully combined.

- Heat water or apple cider until steaming but not boiling.

- Add dark rum to the mug and stir gently.
- Slowly pour in the hot water or cider while stirring continuously until smooth and creamy.
- Add whipped cream on top of the hot buttered rum.
- Finish with a cinnamon stick and a light dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg.
