  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Room temperature
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries Or frozen
  • 1 cup buttermilk Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Frosting:
  • 16 ounces cream cheese Full-fat softened
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 4 cups powdered suga
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • 2 Round cake pans 9-inch
  • 1 Electric mixer Stand or hand
  • 1 Blender For berries
  • 2 Mixing bowls Large
  • 1 Measuring set Cups and spoons
  • 1 Spatula For frosting

Method
 

Step 1: Berry Preparation
  1. Prep Time: 20 minutes
  2. Clean and hull strawberries
  3. Blend until smooth
  4. Reduce on stovetop
  5. Cool completely
Step 2: Cake Batter
  1. Prep Time: 15 minutes
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Add eggs one at a time
  4. Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk
  5. Fold in strawberry reduction
Step 3: Bake and Cool
  1. Cook Time: 25 minutes
  2. Pour into prepared pans
  3. Bake at 350°F
  4. Cool completely
Step 4: Frosting & Assembly
  1. Prep Time: 15 minutes
  2. Beat cream cheese and butter
  3. Add powdered sugar gradually
  4. Layer and frost cake
  5. Decorate with fresh berries
