  • 1 tablespoon Maple syrup Adds sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds Lightly crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Red pepper flakes Optional for heat
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg Ground
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh parsley Finely chopped

Equipment

Method
 

Mix seasonings
  1. In a small bowl, combine fresh sage, thyme, parsley, grated apple, maple syrup, garlic, fennel seeds, and all the spices.
Prepare meat mixture
  1. In a large mixing bowl, gently mix the ground turkey with the prepared seasoning blend. Be careful not to overwork the meat."
Form patties
  1. Divide the turkey mixture into 8 equal portions (approximately 2 oz each). Flatten each into a patty and make a slight indent in the center."
Cook patties
  1. Heat a heavy-bottom skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of oil. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F."
Rest and serve
  1. Remove patties from the skillet and let rest on a paper towel-lined plate for 5 minutes before serving."
