Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey - Use 93/7 for juiciness
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh sage - Finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme - Finely chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic - Minced
  • ½ cup Apple - Grated
  • 1 tablespoon Maple syrup - Adds sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Salt - Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper - Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds - Lightly crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Red pepper flakes - Optional for heat
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg - Ground
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh parsley - Finely chopped

Instructions 

Mix seasonings

  • In a small bowl, combine fresh sage, thyme, parsley, grated apple, maple syrup, garlic, fennel seeds, and all the spices.

Prepare meat mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, gently mix the ground turkey with the prepared seasoning blend. Be careful not to overwork the meat."

Form patties

  • Divide the turkey mixture into 8 equal portions (approximately 2 oz each). Flatten each into a patty and make a slight indent in the center."

Cook patties

  • Heat a heavy-bottom skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of oil. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F."

Rest and serve

  • Remove patties from the skillet and let rest on a paper towel-lined plate for 5 minutes before serving."
