Ingredients

  • 2 Puff Pastry Sheets - Thawed
  • 1 ½ Cups Fresh Strawberries - Sliced
  • 4 Ounces Cream Cheese - Softened
  • ½ Cup Powdered Sugar - For filling and glaze
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract - For flavoring
  • 1 Large Egg - For egg wash

Instructions 

Prepare Ingredients

  • Thaw puff pastry according to package instructions.
  • Slice strawberries, soften cream cheese, and prepare an egg wash by whisking 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water.

Shape the Pastries

  • Roll out puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.
  • Cut into squares and score a ½-inch border on each. Brush borders with egg wash.

Assemble the Pastries

  • Spread cream cheese mixture (cream cheese, ¼ cup powdered sugar, and vanilla extract) in the center of each square.
  • Arrange sliced strawberries on top
  • Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.

Chill the Pastries

  • Chill assembled pastries in the fridge for 15 minutes to firm up and enhance flakiness.

Bake the Pastries

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bake pastries for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
