- Prepare cake mix and bake in a 9x13 pan
- Cool completely on a wire rack
- Poke holes all over the cake with spoon handle
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water
- Stir in cold water and cool slightly
- Slowly pour gelatin over entire cake surface
- Refrigerate for 3+ hours
- Toss strawberries with sugar and let sit
- Spread whipped topping over chilled cake
- Top with berries and garnish as desired
