Equipment

  • 12 cup muffin tin (Standard size)
  • 2 Mixing bowls (One large, one medium)
  • 1 Whisk (For mixing dry ingredients)
  • 1 Rubber spatula (For folding batter)
  • 1 Ice cream scoop (For even muffin portions)
  • 1 Cooling rack (For cooling muffins)
  • 1 Toothpick (For swirling cinnamon mixtur)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour - Sifted
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Buttermilk - Room temperature
  • 2 Eggs - Lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract - Pure
  • ½ cup Melted butter - Unsalted

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • ¼ cup Soft butter - Unsalted
  • ½ cup Brown sugar - Packed
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon Nutmeg - Optional

Cream Cheese Glaze:

  • 2 oz Cream cheese - Softened
  • ½ cup Powdered sugar - Sifted
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoon Milk or cream - Adjust for consistency

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line muffin tin.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Whisk wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently.
  • Mix cinnamon swirl ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Fill muffin cups halfway with batter.
  • Add a spoonful of cinnamon swirl, then top with remaining batter.
  • Swirl with a toothpick for a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle glaze over warm muffins and serve.
