Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Dark chocolate Melted with butter
  • 100 g Butter Unsalted
  • 150 g Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs Large
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 120 g All-purpose flour
  • 20 g Cocoa powder Unsweetened
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
For the Cream Cheese Swirl
  • 200 g Cream cheese Room temperature
  • 50 g Sugar Granulated
  • 1 Egg Large
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • teaspoon Salt
Optional Mix-ins
  • 50 g Chocolate chips
  • 50 g Chopped nuts Walnuts or pecans

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking pan Light-colored pan preferred
  • 1 Electric mixer For cream cheese mixture
  • 1 Mixing bowl Large for brownie batter
  • 1 Rubber spatula For mixing and scraping batter
  • 1 Parchment paper To line the baking pan
  • 1 Double boiler or bowl For melting chocolate

Method
 

Prepare Chocolate Base
  1. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave.
  2. Set aside to cool slightly.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until smooth.
  2. Add vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  2. Fold it into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Prepare Cream Cheese Swirl
  1. Beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla, and salt, mixing until streak-free.
Layer Batters
  1. Pour two-thirds of the brownie batter into a parchment-lined baking pan.
  2. Spread evenly.
Add Cream Cheese Mixture
  1. Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top, followed by the remaining brownie batter.
Create Swirls
  1. Using a knife, swirl the layers together in a figure-eight pattern for marbled effects.
Bake
  1. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes.
  2. Check doneness with a toothpick (moist crumbs, not liquid).
Cool and Serve
  1. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
