  • 1 Mixing bowl (Large for brownie batter)

Ingredients

  • 200 g Dark chocolate - Melted with butter
  • 100 g Butter - Unsalted
  • 150 g Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs - Large
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 120 g All-purpose flour
  • 20 g Cocoa powder - Unsweetened
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

For the Cream Cheese Swirl

  • 200 g Cream cheese - Room temperature
  • 50 g Sugar - Granulated
  • 1 Egg - Large
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • teaspoon Salt

Optional Mix-ins

  • 50 g Chocolate chips
  • 50 g Chopped nuts - Walnuts or pecans

Instructions 

Prepare Chocolate Base

  • Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave.
  • Set aside to cool slightly.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until smooth.
  • Add vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Fold it into the wet ingredients until just combined.

Prepare Cream Cheese Swirl

  • Beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth.
  • Add the egg, vanilla, and salt, mixing until streak-free.

Layer Batters

  • Pour two-thirds of the brownie batter into a parchment-lined baking pan.
  • Spread evenly.

Add Cream Cheese Mixture

  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top, followed by the remaining brownie batter.

Create Swirls

  • Using a knife, swirl the layers together in a figure-eight pattern for marbled effects.

Bake

  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes.
  • Check doneness with a toothpick (moist crumbs, not liquid).

Cool and Serve

  • Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
