Ingredients

Bread Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour - plus 2 tablespoon for apples
  • 2 medium fresh apples - Granny Smith, peeled and diced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs - room temperature
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • cup butter - melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon - divided use
  • cup milk

Cinnamon Sugar Swirl

  • ½ cup brown sugar - packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar - for glaze
  • 3 tablespoon heavy cream - for glaze
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract - for glaze

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven, grease pan, and prepare apples with flour coating
  • Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and sour cream until combined
  • Alternate dry ingredients and milk, fold in prepared apples
  • Pour half batter, add cinnamon sugar, top with remaining batter
  • Use knife to create marble pattern without overmixing
  • Cook at 350°F for 55-65 minutes until golden and set
  • Rest in pan 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack
  • Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over completely cooled bread
