Cake Base
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups milk Room temperature
  • ¼ cup butter Melted
  • 1 large egg
Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1 cup butter Softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese Softened

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking pan Greased
  • Large mixing bowls 2 – For batter and filling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 9x13 inch baking pan
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder in large bowl
  3. Whisk milk, melted butter, vanilla, and egg in separate bowl
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry, stir until just combined
  5. Spread half the batter in prepared pan
  6. Mix cinnamon filling ingredients, drop over batter
  7. Use knife to swirl cinnamon mixture through batter
  8. Add remaining batter, swirl again gently
  9. Cook 28-32 minutes until golden and toothpick comes out clean
  10. Let cool 10 minutes while preparing glaze
  11. Beat cream cheese, add powdered sugar and milk gradually
  12. Pour warm glaze over slightly cooled cake
