Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan (For making the brown sugar syrup)
  • 1 Mason jar or shaker (For shaking the espresso)
  • 1 Fine-mesh strainer (Optional, for clean pouring)
  • 1 Espresso machine (Or use strong brewed coffee)

Ingredients

For Syrup

  • ½ cup Brown sugar - Light or dark, packed
  • ½ cup Water
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract - Pure
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon - Optional, for warmth

For Drink

  • 2 shots Espresso - Or ½ cup strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar syrup - Homemade, still warm if possible
  • ½ cup Ice - For shaking
  • ½ cup Ice - For serving
  • ¼ cup Oat milk - Or milk of choice

Instructions 

  • Combine brown sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir until sugar dissolves. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Simmer 2 minutes, cool.
  • Brew espresso or strong coffee. Let cool 1–2 minutes.
  • Pour espresso and 2 tablespoon syrup into a mason jar while warm.
  • Add ice and shake hard for 15–20 seconds to build foam.
  • Fill serving glass with fresh ice. Strain shaken mixture over.
  • Slowly pour oat milk over the top. Stir gently.
