Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso

Ingredients
  

For Syrup
  • ½ cup Brown sugar Light or dark, packed
  • ½ cup Water
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract Pure
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon Optional, for warmth
For Drink
  • 2 shots Espresso Or ½ cup strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar syrup Homemade, still warm if possible
  • ½ cup Ice For shaking
  • ½ cup Ice For serving
  • ¼ cup Oat milk Or milk of choice

Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan For making the brown sugar syrup
  • 1 Mason jar or shaker For shaking the espresso
  • 1 Fine-mesh strainer Optional, for clean pouring
  • 1 Espresso machine Or use strong brewed coffee

Method
 

  1. Combine brown sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir until sugar dissolves. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Simmer 2 minutes, cool.
  2. Brew espresso or strong coffee. Let cool 1–2 minutes.
  3. Pour espresso and 2 tablespoon syrup into a mason jar while warm.
  4. Add ice and shake hard for 15–20 seconds to build foam.
  5. Fill serving glass with fresh ice. Strain shaken mixture over.
  6. Slowly pour oat milk over the top. Stir gently.
