Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour - Plus more for dusting
  • 1 cup milk - Warm (110°F)
  • 1 packet instant yeast - 2 ¼ tsp
  • cup sugar - Granulated
  • cup butter - Melted (for dough)
  • 1 egg - Room temperature
  • ½ cup butter - Softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup brown sugar - Packed
  • 2 tablespoon cinnamon - Ground
  • 2 cups powdered sugar - For glaze
  • ¼ cup maple syrup - Pure
  • 2 tablespoon bourbon - Or maple extract
  • 10 slices bacon - Cooked crispy and chopped

Instructions 

  • Mix warm milk, yeast, sugar, butter, egg, salt, and flour; knead until smooth. Rise for 1 hour.
  • Roll dough into a rectangle; spread with softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Roll tight, cut into 12 rolls, and let rise in a pan for 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes. Meanwhile, cook bacon until crispy.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and bourbon. Pour over warm rolls and top with bacon.

Notes

Cook the bacon until extra crispy so it adds a crunch to the soft rolls. Glaze the rolls while warm, but add the bacon immediately so it sticks.
