  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Hickory flavor
  • 0.25 cup bourbon Whiskey
  • 4 sub rolls Hoagie style
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese Or provolone
  • 6 slices bacon Cooked and chopped

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet Large
  • 1 Saucepan Small

Method

  1. Mix beef, pork, crumbs, and egg. Form into balls and bake at 400°F for 18-20 minutes.
  2. Simmer BBQ sauce, bourbon, sugar, and vinegar for 10 minutes until thick. Toss meatballs in sauce.
  3. Place meatballs in toasted rolls. Top with cheese and broil until melted.
  4. Top with crispy bacon bits and fresh parsley. Serve hot.

Notes

Use a high-quality bourbon for the best depth of flavor. Ensure the bacon is extra crispy to provide a texture contrast to the melted cheese.
