  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling drained and chopped for easy sealing
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying

  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon mixed with sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg (optional) adds warmth to coating
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting alternative

Equipment

  • 1 Heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer for frying the apple pie bombs

Method
 

  1. Drain and chop apple pie filling into small pieces.
  2. Roll biscuit dough into 4-inch circles.
  3. Place 2 tablespoon apple filling in center of each circle.
  4. Pinch and twist seams tightly to form balls.
  5. Gently roll sealed balls between palms.
  6. Bring oil to 350°F in deep pot or fryer.
  7. Fry 3–4 minutes until golden brown all over.
  8. Transfer bombs to paper towel-lined tray.
  9. Roll warm bombs in cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.
